Here is my situation. I have cat5e cabling running from my basement to my room. But there are no connectors on the cable. Is it possible for me to cut a short patch cable, solder the correct wires together, and have internet in my room?
I have my router in the basement, and want to hook up my PC in my room. It runs a long way through walls and was installed when our house was built a few years ago. The wire is about 8 feet too short, and i cannot get any more slack out of the wire.
